  • Michigan State Police car hit at I-696 and Greenfield in Southfield

    A Michigan State Police car has been hit on I-696 at Greenfield Road in Southfield. A State Trooper was inside the vehicle when it was hit. Michigan State Police say the officer was investigating another accident when a car lost control and hit the back of the police car.

  • Connecticut: West Haven Police Officer Hit By Car

    A city police officer was struck by a car while directing traffic Friday afternoon, police said. The officer was thrown into two AT&T workers, police said. All three were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

  • Tennessee: Trooper Nearly Killed in I-40 Crash Recovering From Surgery

    The Tennessee State Trooper who was nearly killed when a trucker hit his patrol car on I-40 in 2012 is now recovering from yet another surgery. Sergeant Lowell Russell's car caught fire in that crash. He suffered a fractured neck and spine as well as other injuries. Russell underwent an operation at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, California on Friday. Several hours later, 6 News received word that the operation was a success.

  • California Highway Patrol Officer Struck

    At about 1:15 a.m. California Highway Patrol officers were conducting a traffic stop south of Willows on I-5 Northbound when the driver of Ford F-350 fell asleep and drifted onto the right hand shoulder. The truck was pulling a trailer that side swiped the Hyundai Elantra CHP had stopped. The impact caused the Elantra to slide sideways and hit CHP officer Joe Stokes.   • Indiana: Chase in Webster County Ensues After Shots Fired, Deputy Hit by Vehicle

    Authorities aren’t certain what started a fight between two Webster County men Tuesday, but when it was over, a mobile home had been riddled with bullets, one person was charged with attempted murder and a sheriff’s deputy had been struck by a vehicle.

  • Michigan: Cruiser Struck, Deputy Injured

    An Ottawa County deputy was treated at a local hospital for leg and head injuries, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Matt Wildfong. Police said the deputy was working a motorist assist near the 14-mile marker on eastbound I-96. A car had slid off the highway into the median.
