    A Candor firefighter lost his left leg after he was injured in a traffic accident Thursday at the scene of a woods fire in Montgomery County. The firefighter, Earl Harrington, 43, of Candor was pinned between a fire truck and another vehicle which struck the emergency vehicle due to low visibility from smoke caused by the Thursday afternoon fire at 1906 Cole Road, near Brewer Road.

  • United Kingdom: Paramedic Struck by Car

    A paramedic treating a seriously injured motorcyclist who crashed in to a tree on the A137 near Ipswich was hit by another car and taken to hospital.

  • Delaware Faces Tough Road Conditions-Police Car Struck

    In Sussex County, emergency crews were dealing with a series of crashes on icy Seashore Highway (Del. 404) west of Georgetown, involving about a half dozen vehicles, including a state trooper's car. Fournier said the trooper was pulled to the side of the road about 8:24 a.m. investigating the earlier crashes when an on-coming car slid on the ice and collided with the front left bumper of the patrol car.

  • Wisconsin: Police Officer Hit by Car; Pursuit Ends when Suspect Crashes Car

    According to the Fitchburg Police Department, officers were trying to make contact with a suspicious vehicle parked at a gas station. An officer directed a passenger to exit the vehicle, then while the passenger complied, the driver put the car into reverse and accelerated.

  • Georgia: Monroe Firefighter Struck by Ambulance

    A Monroe County firefighter is in stable condition after being hit by an ambulance Wednesday. It happened early afternoon off Highway 87 in Juliette, according to Matt Perry, the county's emergency management director.
