Colorado Officer Struck by Stolen Minivan in Dramatic High-Speed Chase
A Colorado state trooper is seriously injured after trying to stop a man accused of stealing an SUV with a 4-year-old boy inside. Authorities said the unidentified trooper was undergoing surgery Wednesday after being struck by 29-year-old Ryan Stone while putting down stop sticks in a failed effort to stop him. A Michigan State Police trooper is resting at home after he was involved in an accident while assisting another motorist along the freeway. The trooper was policing a crash, Wednesday, on the entrance ramp from Outer Drive to eastbound I-96, when he was hit.

Ilinois: Two Injured When IDOT Vehicle Struck
Two people were injured in a crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 57. It happened around 1:30 p.m. on northbound I-57 at mile post 66. Illinois State Police say a 2008 GMC Denali SUV hit a attachment on the back of an IDOT truck that was stopped in the left lane. Police say the IDOT truck was using its lights and arrow signal to direct traffic away from crews repairing potholes.

Illinois Highway Workers Injured
A two vehicle crash involving an Illinois Department of Transportation truck sent two people to local hospitals for treatment on Tuesday. It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Interstate 57 at mile post 66. The IDOT truck was assisting with traffic control for a lane patching operation to repair potholes left from recent winter snow removal. The truck was stationary in the left lane with the truck's lights and arrow board activated.

Illinois Trooper Struck While Making an Arrest
An Illinois State Trooper making a DUI arrest is hit from behind while filling out paperwork in his cruiser. The trooper had just placed a DUI suspect in the rear seat of his cruiser, when a vehicle traveling east bound on I-64 struck the rear of the troopers cruiser from behind at milepost 3.

Alabama State Trooper Struck and Injured
An Alabama State Trooper was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic near Luverne Thursday night, according to the Alabama Department of Public Safety. The trooper was assisting a motorist on Highway 29 two miles north of Luverne just before 6 p.m. when he was struck, according to Trooper Kevin Cook. A 25-year-old Natuashish man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault against a police officer in the community last night. The officer was taken to the local clinic for treatment after he was reportedly struck by a snowmobile.

Indiana State Trooper's Vehicle Struck on I-65
An Indiana State Trooper was taken to a hospital in northwest Indiana Wednesday morning after the squad car he was sitting in was hit by a pickup truck on I-65 near Merrillville. The trooper, Aaron Segrest, 53, a 29-year veteran was sitting in his parked squad car on the outer shoulder of the northbound lanes at around 10 a.m. with his emergency lights on while investigating a two-vehicle accident when the driver of a pickup truck also in the northbound lanes lost control and hit Segrest’s car.
