    A Chariton County Sheriff's deputy is in critical condition after being hit by a truck Wednesday evening. According to the Missouri State Highway patrol, a truck hit 46-year-old Troy Frakes while he was conducting an investigation on Route M. The Highway Patrol reports Frakes was attempting to stop a vehicle traveling westbound.

  • Illinois State Police Officer Hit By Drunk Driver

    An Illinois State Police officer remains in the hospital Sunday after being run over by a drunk driver. According to the state police, 55-year old Leslie Thurow of Mount Prospect, who was already on probation for an aggravated DUI conviction earlier this summer allegedly was intoxicated Saturday when she struck an Illinois State Police trooper on I-294 north.   • Louisiana: Deputy's Vehicle Hit After Responding to a St. Mary DWI Incident

    A deputy has now been released from the hospital after his vehicle, while stationed on US 90 during an early morning DWI arrest, was struck by an eighteen wheeler. The crash occurred following the arrest of Joseph Jacobs, 26, of Carencro, on Wednesday at 5:08 am. Jacobs was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated flight from an officer. Just after 4:00 am, the St. Mary Sheriff's Office received a call originating from Louisiana State Police Troop C regarding a vehicle travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes of US Highway 90. Deputies received information that the vehicle was approaching the St. Mary Parish line driving towards Amelia.

  • Nevada: Officer Investigating Crash Struck in Hit-and-Run

    A Metro Police officer was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident Thursday evening, and Lt. Barb Schmidt said the suspected driver is in custody. The officer was struck while conducting a crash investigation at Windmill Lane and Eastern Avenue around 5:55 p.m. As traffic was stopped, police said, a driver went around other stopped vehicles, accelerated and hit the officer.   • Australia: Firefighter Struck by Car While Battling Fire in Haze

    A FIREFIGHTER was rushed to hospital after he was struck by a car while battling a blaze in Goodna late yesterday. Senior Sergeant Robert Goodger was at the scene and said the 51-year-old was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with suspected leg and back injuries. "The QFES were here fighting the fire and there was very thick smoke coming across the road," Snr Sgt Goodger said.

    A police officer in Fort Worth was seriously hurt on Tuesday night in a crash near downtown. The incident happened shortly after 10:00 p.m. along Interstate-30 near Henderson Street.

  • Washington:Thurston County Deputy Hit by Fleeing Truck

    The driver of a truck knocked a Thurston County deputy to the ground when he decided to flee during a traffic stop. The Sheriff’s Office said that about 1 a.m. Thursday, a deputy stopped a flatbed truck in the 160 block of Nisqually Cutoff Road Southeast, believing the driver may be a wanted person.   • Iowa: Floyd Fire Truck, New Station Damaged When Struck by Truck

    A Floyd fire truck as well as the new fire station were damaged recently when a former member of the fire department drove the truck into the building. It is believed the driver, James Middour, 34, was intoxicated on the night of the incident, which took place at 4:22 a.m. on Aug. 24, according a press release from William Baresel, acting Floyd County Attorney.
