    A spokeswoman with the Department of Public Safety says the trooper who was hit by her patrol car in Orange County has been discharged from the hospital. She was injured while working a wreck on Interstate 10-E between at FM 1136.

  • United Kingdom: Officer on Patrol Struck by Impatient Driver

    A policeman was hit by a car as he tried to control Canvey residents during the recent floods. PC James Edmunds was trying to marshal traffic in Foksville Road, near High Street, when he was struck by the car. He was on the island to set up traffic restrictions and help people caught up in the flood chaos.

  • Connecticut: State Trooper's Vehicle Struck From Behind On Highway

    A state police trooper suffered minor injuries Tuesday morning when his vehicle was struck from behind on I-91 after he stopped to help a motorist. The accident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m., when Master Sgt. William Kittle stopped to assist a motorist on the southbound entrance ramp at Exit 23.

  • Delaware: Firefighter Injured During Police Chase

    Wilmington officials say a firefighter is among three people hurt when a stolen car hit a fire truck during a police chase. Fire Chief Anthony Goode says the crash occurred around 8 p.m. Tuesday at the downtown intersection of West 11th and Washington streets.

  • Florida: Daytona Officer Struck by Aleeged Drunk Driver

    A man with a cocktail in his car plowed into the back of a Daytona Beach police patrol vehicle early Wednesday, injuring two officers and the person they had arrested, according to an arrest affidavit.

  • Georgia: Officer Working Traffice Detail Struck by Car

    A Sandy Springs police officer at the scene of a wreck on Ga. 400 was involved in a second wreck when he was hit by another car. While in the right emergency lane on the southbound side of Ga. 400 at Northridge Road, Officer Mike Stark’s patrol car was hit from behind, according to Capt. Steve Rose. Around 4 p.m., a driver left the roadway and crossed into the emergency lane, striking the officer’s car, Rose said.

  • Pennsylvania: Volunteer Fire Policeman Recovering

    A volunteer fire policeman with the Jackson Township Fire Department is recovering after he was hit by a car at the scene of an accident. It happened Monday along Route 271 in Jackson Township. The fire and police departments were called out to a coal truck and motorcycle accident. Terry Crouse was directing traffic when he was hit by another car.

  • Rhode Island: Providence Bike Officer Struck by Car

    A Providence police officer on bike patrol was struck by a minivan and thrown about 15 feet on Monday night.
