    A police officer has been injured after he was hit by a car while conducting a random breath test in Sydney's north.The officer sustained suspected hip injuries when another vehicle crashed into the rear of a highway patrol car on Warringah Road in Forestville at about 8.45pm (AEST) on Sunday July 20, 2014.

  • New York: Westchester Officer Struck on Hutchenson Riber Pky

    A Westchester County police officer is hospitalized in stable condition after being hit by a car. The accident happened on the Hutchinson River Parkway in Scarsdale at about 9:30 Saturday night.   • Pennsylvania: Truck and Motorcycle Collide, Firefighter Struck by Vehicle in Cambria County

    Investigators are working to learn what caused a motorcycle and a truck to collide on a Cambria County roadway Monday afternoon. The accident between the motorcycle and tri-axle truck happened just before 4 p.m. along Route 271 near the Pike Road intersection in the Mundys Corner area of Jackson Township, according to Cambria County emergency dispatch. About an hour after the accident, Jackson Township Fire Police members were directing traffic near the Pike Road intersection when one of the fire police members was struck by a passing motorist. The firefighter was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not known.

  • Australia: Police Officer Hit by Car in Warilla

    Lake Illawarra police charged the man, aged in his 20s, with malicious damage, driving under the influence of alcohol and using a weapon to avoid arrest. The charges came after an alleged incident at a unit block on Shellharbour Road, Warilla. He was refused bail and will front Port Kembla Local Court on Friday.

  • Texas: El Paso Code Enforcement Officer Dies from Injuries in Hit-and-Run

    A city employee who worked as a code enforcement officer who was struck by a car earlier in July has died. On July 2, 59-year-old Robert Narro was injured in a car crash in the 8300 block of North Loop Drive. Narro worked for the Environmental Services Department and was on the job when the crash happened.

  • Minnesota Deputy Struck by Driver Recovering

    A Wabasha County sheriff's deputy struck by a suspected drunken driver has been released from the hospital. Sheriff's officials say the deputy was on foot patrol early Saturday in Elgin and tried to stop a man he suspected was driving drunk.

  • New Hampshire: Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Officer Dring a Post-Race Chase

    State Police say a North Sutton man was arrested on multiple charges after he failed to stop his pickup truck for an officer outside New Hampshire Motor Speedway, struck another State Police officer multiple times, crashed into two more vehicles, and tried to escape on foot, leaving two passengers injured in his vehicle.   • Wisconsin: Sheriff's Deputy Struck by Alleged Drunk Driver

    A Milwaukee County Sheriff Deputy was taken to the hospital early Saturday morning after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. The deputy was responding to a a crash involving a suspected drunk driver around 5:00 a.m. near I-94 and Highway 100 when another suspected drunk driver hit the squad at a high rate of speed.   • Florida: Accused Shoplifter Who Hit Apopka Cop with Car Denied Bond

    An alleged shoplifter with 39 prior arrests, struck an Apopka police officer when fleeing from the officer in a Marshall store parking lot.

  • New Jersey: Driver, 80, Charged with Hitting Officer

    An 80-year-old driver was charged with hitting a township police officer with his car on Monday while he was directing traffic on Route 35, authorities said. Roland Eckstein, of Middletown, tried to pass vehicles in the shoulder of the road at around 11:10 a.m. when he struck Patrolman Thomas Hughes at the intersection of Route 35 and Pine Street, Lt. Stephen Dollinger said in a release. Hughes was taken to Riverview Hospital in Red Bank where he was treated for a hand injury, he said.
