  • Vermont: Tractor Trailer Hits Cruiser and 2 Vehicles

    Authorities say a Vermont State Police cruiser and two other vehicles were hit by a tractor trailer that jackknifed in slippery conditions on Interstate 89 in Montpelier, closing the northbound lanes for two hours. The truck driver was taken to the hospital with back pain. State police say a trooper responding to a crash was placing roadside flares on the road on Tuesday when he said a tractor trailer approached at a high rate of speed. As the tractor jackknifed the trooper jumped over the guardrail to avoid being hit.

  • Florida: Orange County Deputy Hospitalized After Crash, Shooting

    An Orange County Sheriff's Office deputy is in the hospital after being hit by a car. The incident happened on Orange Blossom Trail at Holden Avenue on Sunday night, officials said. Two deputies were patrolling the area because of recent crime when investigators said the crime came to them.   • Minnesota: Minneapolis Police Officer Hit by Car Suspected in Shoplifting

    A Minneapolis police officer was injured Saturday night January 31, 2014 when a vehicle of suspected shoplifters drove directly at him, struck the officer, then fled, authorities said.

  • India: Delhi Police Constable Hit by Speeding Vehicle

    A 50-year-old Delhi Police constable is battling for life at a private hospital after he along with a home guard was hit by a speeding car at a police picket here early Monday, police said.

  • Tennessee: Chattanooga Firefighter Struck By Vehicle

  • Ohio: Trooper Puts Crash Injuries in Rearview

    Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew Clouser was checking on occupants of a vehicle involved in one of a series of crashes on the Ohio Turnpike near Castalia during a blinding snowstorm last winter when his world suddenly went black. When Trooper Clouser came to — he thinks it was just 10 or 20 seconds later — he was trapped under his cruiser and the van was stopped next to it. He couldn’t feel his right leg, and breathing was painful. Now, after more than 10 months of recovery and rehabilitation, Trooper Clouser is eager to go back out on patrol from the Milan post, where he has been assigned since becoming an Ohio state trooper in 2013. Right now, he estimates his return is Feb. 23, but his bottom-line goal is March 12, the massive crash’s anniversary

  • Pennsylvania: Penn DOT Worker Struck by Vehicle

    A PennDOT contractor was hit by a vehicle Friday in Cumberland County. The contractor was thrown more than 10 feet by the impact on the ramp from 581 west to Interstate 81 north, according to a PennDOT spokesperson.
