A woman whose vehicle struck and seriously injured a firefighter who was directing traffic at an accident has been indicted by the Grand Jury. Andrea Leeanne Payne, 42, has been arrested by traffic investigators and charged with DUI, vehicular assault, leaving the scene of a crash, failure to render aid, and failure to maintain lane.

Nevada: Driver Arrested for DUI After Striking Metro Officer
Las Vegas police arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence when he struck an officer Tuesday night. The 34-year-old male officer, whose identity will be released by Metro, was conducting a traffic stop about 10 p.m. in the area of Rancho Drive and Washington Avenue, police said.

Maryland: State Police Cruiser Struck on Capital Beltway
Maryland state police say a cruiser was struck by a hit-and-run driver while the trooper conducted a traffic stop on the Capital Beltway. The crash occurred shortly after 2:45 a.m. Saturday in Silver Spring. The trooper was not inside his parked vehicle at the time and was not injured. Police say the trooper was on foot and was approaching the vehicle that he had pulled over.
