  • New Hampshire: Injured Auburn Officer Will Return to Light Duty

    A police officer struck by a motor vehicle last week while involved in a foot pursuit is expected to return to light duty Monday.

  • Georgia: Officer Struck in Parking Deck Dispute

    Authorities say an Atlanta police officer was struck by a pickup truck during a search for the vehicle in a parking deck at Atlanta Medical Center. Atlanta police Officer John Chafee said reports of a dispute inside the hospital lobby drew officers there around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.

  • New York: Deputy Hit by Truck After Robbery Attempt; Pittsford Man Charged

    Shortly after, two deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrived at Deprez neighbor's home. Only to find, Colby Reed rifling through Deprez's attached garage. "The perpetrator was just coming out of the driveway here and ran around his, (the neighbor's) house," Deprez showed. That prompted a foot chase around a few of the homes on Brook Road. Then, according to the felony complaint, Reed, jumped into his SUV and tried to make a run for it, hitting one of the deputies in the process; then this. "21 shots fired," officers said over the scanner feed. Two shots were fired into Reed's car, he was uninjured. The deputy Reed struck, received a minor injury to his left knee. He was taken to Rochester General Hospital.

  • New York: 'Inattentive Driver' Injures Fire Policeman at Fishkill Crash Scene

    A Rombout fire police officer was injured at the scene of a two-car crash in Fishkill Sunday night, while he was responding to the accident, said Kevin Barry, public information officer for Rombout Fire Company.

  • Ohio: Stow Offficer Suffers Serious Injuries When Struck by Car

    A police officer was struck and multiple car crashes shut down state Route 8 in Stow Thursday evening. Highway Patrol said the crash happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

  • Pennsylvania: SEPTA Officer’s Bike Struck By Car Near Olney Transportation Center

    A SEPTA police officer’s bike was struck by a car on Thursday. The accident happened around at Broad and Olney in North Philadelphia.

  • Rhode Island: Officer Struck During DUI Stop

    Police made a third arrest around 1 a.m. Sunday morning after a Cranston Officer was injured by the impact of his cruiser after it had been struck by a drunk driver. Steven Capobianco, 32, of Cranston, was driving on Oaklawn Avenue when his vehicle hit a police cruiser from behind as the officer was administering field sobriety tests to another driver on the side of the road. The cruiser was pushed forward and hit the officer in his hip and back. Capobianco was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor or Drugs and Refusal to Submit to a Breath Test.

  • Texas: San Antonio Officer Hit by Vehicle

    An SAPD officer is recovering after he was hit by a car while responding to a wreck near downtown on Saturday night. According to news reports, the unnamed officer was struck while getting out of his patrol car by vehicle traveling south on U.S. 281 South near Interstate 35.

  • Virginia: Fire Truck Struck by Tractor-Trailer on I-64

    At approximately 0720, a fire truck responding to the 2nd accident was struck from behind by a tractor trailer while slowing to use an emergency crossover from the east bound lanes to access the scene of the 2nd MVC in the west bound lanes. The fire truck was using all of its emergency lights and signaling devices at the time. Neither the three firefighters on the truck nor the driver of the tractor trailer sustained significant injury. The three firefighters were transported to the hospital as a precaution. The tractor trailer was carrying several hazardous materials including consumer grade pesticides, alcohol, and flammable liquids. The east bound lanes of the interstate are currently closed and are not expected to open for an extended period of time."

  • Louisiana: Alabama Football Team Dctors Help Officer Struck by Car

    An LSU police officer struck by a car Saturday night after the Alabama-LSU game is recovering after the quick action of the Crimson Tide's team doctors. At the time he was hit, the officer was escorting the doctors out of Baton Rouge. As soon as the doctors realized what had happened, they left their vehicles and went to the officer's aid. Unfortunately, at that point all of their medical equipment was on the way back to Tuscaloosa.
