A new law has simple instructions: Move over, but if you don't, the penalties can be complicated. In 2011, the Ambrose-Searles Move Over Act goes into effect. New North Carolina Move Over Law
A new law protecting electric utility workers goes into effect Wednesday. The "move over" law says drivers have to move into the farthest lane, or slow down, when passing a public service vehicle that's flashing a warning signal.
