Wisconsin Sheriff's Department Adds Patrols For Labor Day Weekend
The Dane County Sheriff's Department said it will have additional deputies on the roads this holiday weekend. Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Elise Schaffer said deputies will be focusing on speed, alcohol and seat belt violations, which she said are the top contributors to traffic injuries and deaths.

Today marks 10 years since the crash that killed State Trooper Ted Foss. He was writing a ticket on the side of I-90 near Rochester when he was hit by a truck. The Move Over law makes it mandatory that drivers move a full lane away from emergency vehicles that have pulled to the side of the road.

Delaware 'Move Over' Law Aims to Protect Emergency Personnel and Road Crews
Surrounded at Delaware City Fire Company by first responders and the family of a young firefighter who was struck while giving aid at a crash in New Castle, Delaware, Governor Jack Markell signed Senate Bill 205 into law. The law requires motorists to move — if possible — at least one lane away from firefighters, law enforcement, ambulances, tow trucks and transportation workers. If motorists cannot move one lane away, they should slow down and proceed with caution.
