    City firefighters battled a fire at a home on Lambert Avenue Tuesday afternoon. Smoke poured out of the building as firefighters sprayed water on the blue home. Flames also shot out of the roof.A city police officer responding to the fire was struck while in his patrol car by a pickup truck.

    A police officer who was injured when his idling patrol car was struck by another car amid high winds and blowing snow Sunday has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home, Capt. Laurence Martin said.

  • Alabama: Deputy Hit by Car

    A Cullman County Sheriff’s Deputy was struck by a slow moving vehicle while assisting a motorist Friday night at around 6:50 p.m. at the Dodge City 299 exit.

  • Connecticut: East Hartford Fire Vehicle Likely Totaled Following Saturday Night Accident On Route 2

    Firefighters who responded to two accidents on Route 2 were struck by a vehicle while on scene at the second accident Saturday night, fire officials said. On-duty Deputy Fire Chief Richard Westman and apparatus operator Lee Brow were driving the department's 2009 Chevrolet Suburban back to the fire department after responding to an accident on Route 2 in the area of exit 5B when they noticed another car had stuck along a guard rail in the center median, which separates east-bound and west-bound traffic.   • Michigan: Tow Truck Driver Struck

    A pile-up Saturday morning on US-31 in Muskegon had traffic stopped in both directions. Tow trucks were sent out to clear the roads, and one tow truck driver was struck by a truck barreling through stopped traffic. “People have no respect for us,” said Joseph Vandermolen, a tow truck driver for ASAP Towing, who was hit by a truck. “I have more lights on my truck than any type of emergency vehicle. They are bright and red, but other people don’t care.”

  • New Hampshire: Cruiser Struck, Several Accidents Reported on I-93 in Thornton

    Officials say the accidents happened just after noon. Officials shut down the area just north of Exit 29 to treat the roads. According to authorities, state police requested additional help from Thornton police. Shortly after arriving, a Thornton police cruiser was struck by another vehicle. The police officer was not in the car at the time. That cruiser was towed away.

  • Maryland: Montgomer County EMS Units Struck on I-495

    At just after midnight this morning, units from (Montgomery County, Maryland) stations 710, 711, and 726 were operating on the inner loop of I-495 just past River Road.As the crew from Ambulance 711 was assessing the occupants sitting in a car along the right shoulder before the primary accident scene, ambulance crew, the original vehicle , and the ambulance was stuck by a pickup.This impact injured two (2) of the four (4) members of Ambulance 711's crews and entrapped the original occupants sitting in the car.Additional resources were called and patient care was initiated. The two injured members of Ambulance 711's crew received serious injuries and were transported to Suburban Hospital trauma center with serious life threatening injuries. The other two crew members where un-injured.The original three occupants of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle and all three were taken to Medstar trauma center.

  • Oklahoma: OKC Police Officer Hit by Car

    Part of Britton Road has been shut down after an Oklahoma City Police Officer was struck by a vehicle Friday night. “The officer was responding to a disturbance call in the area. Near University and Britton. I am not sure what the disturbance was. At some point, the officer had to cross the road in which he got impacted,” Oklahoma City Police Officer Dutton said.
