  • Florida: Gainesville Officer Injured When DUI Suspect Hits Cruiser

    A Gainesville Police Department officer was injured early Sunday morning when his cruiser was struck by a car driven by a man later arrested on a drunken driving charge. Cpl. Matthew Walters, who was inside the parked patrol car, sustained back and neck injuries and was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital, according to a GPD report.

  • Maryland: Off-Duty Officer Hit By Car Helping Stranded Drivers

    An off-duty Anne Arundel County Police officer was hit by a car after she stopped to help stranded drivers. The Capital reports that the officer was hit on Route 100 in Glen Burnie on Saturday night.

  • Michigan: Bloomfield Township Officer Struck by Car

    Dashcam video shows a Bloomfield Township police officer get hit by a car Saturday on Interstate 75 near Adams Road. The Bloomfield Township Police Department posted the video to its Facebook page, explaining the officer was outside of his own vehicle assisting a driver who slid off the interstate into the median. Police say an 18-year-old driver lost control and struck the officer's patrol car before hitting the officer and the disabled car.   • Pennsylvania: Bucks Officer Helping Motorist Clipped in Hit-Run

    A police officer helping a motorist with a disabled vehicle was struck by a pickup truck's mirror in a hit-and-run in Bucks County. Middletown Township police said officers were looking for the black Nissan Titan pickup that hit the officer on Langhorne-Yardley Road near Bridgetown Pike at about 7:30 a.m. Friday.

    A Denver police officer critically injured when he was struck by a motorist last year during a demonstration over the shooting of an unarmed black teenager in Missouri was released from a hospital on Wednesday. John Adsit, 43, suffered a severed artery, numerous broken bones, and had his spleen removed after the December incident.

  • Michigan: Police Officer Hit by Vehicle While Assisting with Weekend Crashes

    A Van Buren County Police Officer was injured after being hit by a vehicle while investigating a crash. A news release from the Van Buren County Sheriff's Department said a Mattawan Police Department officer was assisting with crashes Saturday and exited hit patrol vehicle after seeing crashed vehicle's passenger start to get out. The officer told the passenger to stay in her vehicle and was hit by another vehicle as he began to walk away.
