  • Connecticut: Police Investigate Trooper-Involved Shooting

    According to police, a trooper on patrol observed a violation and erratic operation on RT 12 in Plainfield. The trooper attempted to stop the violator, later identified as 44-year-old Keith Corey, in the motor vehicle.

  • New Mexico: Witness Says Man Did Not Drive at Police

    A witness disputes the State Police account of what happened before an officer shot at a 72-year-old New York man’s vehicle, wounding the man, who’d been driving the wrong way on Interstate 25 at night last weekend. Helen Vargas of Romeroville told the Las Vegas Optic that the van driver didn’t drive aggressively toward an officer or his vehicle, as State Police have maintained.

  • Texas: Drunk Drivers Run Into Sheriff's Deputy and Police Officer

    A Dallas police officer was rushed to the hospital following a crash on I-35 E early Sunday morning. The wreck happened in the southbound lanes near Highway 67 around 3:00 a.m. Before that, two pickup trucks got into an accident. When a Dallas sheriff's deputy made it to the scene, his patrol car was hit by another vehicle. The deputy was not hurt. Then, the driver of a sports car hit a DPD squad car after that officer responded to the wrecks that had already happened

  • Texas: Lubbock Officer Seriously Injured in Police Chase

    A Lubbock police had two people in custody Friday after a pursuit that left one officer seriously injured.   • VIDEO: 4 Minnesota State Patrol Squads Hit by Passing Cars

    The Minnesota State Patrol says 4 of its squads were hit by passing cars this past weekend. All 4 troopers involved in the crashes escaped serious injury.

  • West Virginia: Firefighter Hit by Car at St. Albans Water Distribution Center

    A firefighter, directing traffic at a water distribution center, was hit by a car. The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened about 11 a.m. Monday at the West Side Volunteer Fire Department on West Main Street near St. Albans

  • Ohio: Hit-and-Run Hospitalizes Tow Truck Driver on I-75

    A tow truck driver and his truck were hit on I-75 while trying to help a driver stranded on the side of the road in LaSalle Township. Steven Johnson of Star Towing was seriously injured and sent to St. Vincent Hospital on Saturday.   • Pennsylvania: Car, Reading Fire Truck on Call Crash in Snowy Intersection

    The wintry weather led to dozens of accidents around the region Friday morning. One of the crashes involved a car and a fire truck responding to a call in Reading. The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at North 10th and Robeson streets. The intersection was snow-covered at the time.

  • Texas: Officer Struck by Vehicle, Lubbock Police Arrest Two People After Chase

    Lubbock police arrested two people, one accused of striking an officer with a vehicle before fleeing on foot and another of kicking in apartment doors to escape.

  • Maine State Trooper Injured in Portland Accident

    Trooper Jessica Shorey has been treated and released from Maine Medical Center for neck and back pain. She was seated in her cruiser when it was struck by another car which lost control on the slippery road.
