  • Ohio: Fire Apparatus Crash Then Apparatus is Struck

    Four people were taken to hospitals from two crashes involving Kettering emergency vehicles that shut down Stroop and Far Hills avenues Wednesday. A police sport utility vehicle and a fire engine responded to that crash and were blocking traffic when the second crash occurred.

  • Arizona: Maricopa County Sheriff's Officer Deputy Hit Directing Traffic

    A Scottsdale man faces aggravated assault charges after a Maricopa County Sheriff's deputy was struck by a car while he was on traffic control duty for a construction project at Fountain Hills and Kingstree boulevards Tuesday, Nov. 5. The deputy was treated at a Scottsdale hospital for a leg injury and released, but not before he followed and stopped the suspect vehicle a short distance away.

  • Maryland: State Police Vehicle Struck on Route 40

    A Montgomery County man was killed early Thursday morning when his compact car crashed into a tractor-trailer rig on a highway near Perryville, as he reportedly sped from law enforcement officers after failing to pull over for a traffic stop in Elkton, according to Maryland State Police. Moments after the fatal crash, a vehicle struck an unoccupied, marked MSP cruiser off the eastbound lane of West Pulaski Highway after that vehicle passed a truck in the slow lane, police said, adding that the trooper had parked the patrol car with its emergency lights flashing so he could assist at the nearby crash scene. No one was injured in that collision, according to police officials, who noted that the trooper was able to drive the damaged cruiser back to the North East Barrack.

  • Arizona: I-10 Near Casa Grande Reopened After 2 Crashes

    The Department of Public Safety said two people were seriously hurt in the first crash that involved a tractor trailer and another vehicle.

  • Florida: Officer Struck by Fleeing Car

    A police officer who was struck by a fleeing car Tuesday fired at the vehicle and its two occupants during a chase in Northwest Jacksonville, police said.

  • Indiana: Two Troopers and a Trucker Struck on I-70

    Two Indiana State Police troopers and a trucker have gone to a hospital but avoided serious injuries after a collision between their vehicles closed Interstate 70 in Indianapolis for more than two hours.

  • Pennsylvania: Firefighter Struck Assisting at Roadway Incident

    Hempfield Township - Five people were injured on Monday evening after a car struck a deer. A Youngwood firefighter, who stopped to help after the first crash, was struck and injured. As the firefighter was assessing the first crash, another car lost control as he swerved to miss the deer lying on the road and struck three of the four people who were standing along the four-lane road.

  • Washington: Third State Patrol Car Hit Within a Week

    For the third time within a week, a Washington State Patrol (WSP) car has been involved in a collision, while parked on the shoulder of the freeway. In each case, the trooper was seated in his patrol car, when the collision occured.
