    A police officer suffered minor injuries after being struck by a motorcycle on Saturday. The officer apparently stopped the motorcycle near 3rd and South Street around 8:21 p.m. The driver fled the scene, striking the officer.

  • New York: Sparta Firefighters on the Hot Seat After Truck Accident

    Three weeks after a fast-moving fire completely destroyed a Sparta home, the Sparta Volunteer Fire Department is still trying to put out another fire, of sorts, that has smoldered since that evening. As Engine 7 navigated a narrow, gravel portion of Arapaho Trail in response to the late-night blaze on Sept. 14, it hit a bolder that jutted out from the side of the road and then hit the back of an ambulance squad vehicle parked across the street.   • North Carolina: Police Chase Ends With Car Striking Fire Station

    Police released the dash cam video of the police pursuit in Lenoir that ended with a car crashing into a fire department Tuesday. The whole pursuit was less than a mile long lasted only 61 seconds. The car ended up crashing through the front bay door at the Lenoir Fire Department knocking a 30,000-pound fire truck several feet.

  • South Carolina: Deputy Hit by Car While Chasing Woman

    A Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office deputy and a woman were hit by car while the deputy was chasing the woman Tuesday night, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.   • New York: Oswego County Tow Truck Driver Recovering After Tractor Trailer Accident

    Tow truck driver Dorwin Lybolt was helping a couple with their stranded car on the side of Route 81 last Saturday when he saw a tractor trailer coming up in his lane. Lybolt tried to pinned himself against the cab of his tow truck as the tractor trailer passed by. At first he thought it was just a close call. "I actually just started walking away from my truck - when I pulled my hand away from my stomach is when I realized it had really done something," said Lybolt.
