  • Ohio Officer Injured

    An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper has been Life Flighted to MetroHealth Medical Center after being seriously injured in a car accident Saturday afternoon on the Ohio Turnpike. OSP says Trooper Kenneth Collins was on a traffic stop when his patrol car was struck from behind. The car that hit Trooper Collins vehicle then struck two other cars.

  • Ohio Trooper Released from Hospital After Car Strikes Cruiser

    A state trooper was injured when a Hiram woman drove into the rear of his patrol car during a traffic stop Saturday on the Ohio Turnpike. The trooper was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. He is being released this afternoon. The other three drivers were taken to Akron City Hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Ruddle said.

  • Wisconsin Man Charged With Hit-And-Run Of Bike Officer

    A Mequon man is due in court next week on charges that he struck and injured a bicycle police officer with his van last week. Vladimir Krivoshein, 47, is charged with hit-and-run injury and second-offense drunken driving causing injury. A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday.

  • Update on Massachusetts Trooper Struck By Incident

    Trooper Damien T. Canali, 33, who is assigned to the Leominster barracks, was treated at UMass Memorial Medical Center — University Campus for minor injuries suffered in the 8:40 p.m. accident, according to state police. Trooper Canali was in one of three state police cruisers protecting a road construction crew when his cruiser was rear-ended by a 2003 Acura 32TL sedan driven by André Draughn, state police said.

  • Massachusetts Trooper Rear-Ended on I-290 in Auburn

    A Massachusetts state trooper was hospitalized after his cruiser was struck from behind by another vehicle while he worked a road construction detail. A department spokesman says the trooper was in his cruiser on Interstate 290 west in Auburn at about 8:40 p.m. Monday when he was struck. The trooper’s injuries are not considered serious. The driver who struck the cruiser also suffered minor injuries.

    A Kane County jury convicted an Elk Grove Village man Tuesday on charges he hit a police officer with his car after a chase ending at the Elgin Toll Plaza.
