Many area drivers are apparently heeding the new “Ambrose-Searles Move Over Act,” which requires them to exercise caution when approaching an authorized emergency vehicle which is parked, stopped or standing on the shoulder of a road or highway with its emergency lights activated.

You've seen it on electronic billboard signs across the area and now New York State Police want drivers to know they're enforcing the "Move Over Law." From January 1 to May 3, 5,027 tickets were handed out statewide-- 170 alone in Monroe County.
