I was hoping that you could verify something for me. There is an e-mail circulating at work stating that in California there is a "move over" law that became operative on Jan. 1. It states that if any emergency vehicle is on the side of the road, you are to move into the far lane if able. If you do not, you can be pulled over and ticketed. The cost of the ticket can be up to $754, with three points on your license and a mandatory court appearance.
