Massachusetts: Move Over for Flashing Lights
Stay alert for parked vehicles with flashing lights in Massachusetts while driving beginning this weekend. The new Move Over law takes effect Sunday, March 22, requiring all drivers approaching a stationary emergency or maintenance vehicle with flashing lights to move to the next adjacent lane if it is safe to do so, and barring that, to reduce their speed.

CT 'Move-Over' Law Moves Forward
A proposed law that would mandate motorists move over when an emergency vehicle is parked on the side of a highway cleared the state legislature’s Transportation Committee today. The law is co-sponsored by Westport state Representative Joe Mioli and Representative Russ Morin of Wethersfield, both Democrats.

Columbus Police Enforcing Georgia "Move Over" Law
In his thirteen years on the force, Columbus Police Corporal Robert Taft lived through some close calls. "Many times I've been almost struck while conducting traffic stops on the side of the road, especially at night, when its dark. Many times people don't see us," said Taft, a member of the Motor Squad. There is a law on the books meant to protect cops like Corporal Taft, but most people don't know about it.
