    A city police officer chasing a 16-year-old wanted on warrants was hit by a sport-utility-vehicle Sunday on Chino Avenue.

  • Michigan: Westbound I-196 closed due to multiple crashes in Grand Rapids

    Police have closed westbound I-196 at College Avenue Monday night while crews respond to crashes in the area. The freeway was closed about 9 p.m. after seven cars crashed on the icy freeway in three separate incidents, police said.

  • Ohio: Fleeing driver nearly hits Dayton officer

    A police officer who jumped out of the way of a fleeing driver Saturday night narrowly missed being hit by the car. Two officers inside a cruiser on patrol at 8:30 p.m. spotted a Chevrolet Impala fail to signal a turn 100 feet ahead before turning from Blueberry Avenue onto England Avenue. The officers activated the overhead lights to initiate a traffic stop when the driver turned onto Kings Highway at a dead-end, according to a Dayton police report. The officers got out of the cruiser after the driver raised his hands in the air. Then the driver began to accelerate at a high rate of speed towards one of the officers as both officers ordered him to stop. According to the officer’s report, “the driver continued on his path towards me, requiring me to take immediate evasive action to avoid being struck by his vehicle.” The officer reported that even after he got out of the way, “the vehicle was still within a foot of striking me.” The car was described as black Chevrolet Impala with a temporary Ohio license tag.

  • Michigan: Two Kalamazoo officers injured after being hit by drunk driver

    Two Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were injured after being hit by a vehicle Sunday morning. Officers were responding to a car accident around 3 a.m. in the 600 block of South Howard Street.

  • Canada: Riverview man arrested after police officer struck by ATV

    An 18-year-old man from Riverview, N.B., was arrested Sunday after a police officer was struck by an all-terrain vehicle during a vehicle stop, according to a written statement from RCMP Cpl. Christa Mitchell. At 4:15 p.m. Sunday an officer from the Riverview detachment stopped an ATV on Country Club Road, Mitchell said

  • Georgia: Cobb Officer Struck By Car; Search Underway for Suspects

    Police are continuing their search for the suspects who struck a Cobb police officer with their car on Tuesday night. No details yet on the officer's injuries, or how many suspects may be involved. A Cobb police spokesperson says the suspects have not yet been apprehended.

  • Pennsylvania: Royersford police officer struck by vehicle

    A borough police officer directing traffic at an accident scene early Monday was struck by a vehicle. Information posted on the Royersford Police Department Facebook page states the officer was struck at Main Street and Tenth Avenue at 5:47 a.m. He was not seriously injured and is recovering at home, police said. At the time of the accident, there was steady rain falling, which hampered visibility. “Please use extreme caution when approaching ANY emergency vehicle with lights activated or an emergency scene,” police said. “Slow down and save a life.”

  • Mississippi: Yazoo City police officer injured when struck by suspect's vehicle

    A Yazoo City police officer was taken to the hospital Thursday evening after being struck by a suspect's vehicle. The incident started at 14th and Calhoun streets when police tried to stop Cruzette Loften for a traffic violation on a dead-end street.
