The Iowa State Patrol reports he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The report says Miller merged into the left lane and then slowed down while approaching the crash scene. His car was struck by the semi, then pushed across both lanes into the car parked on the shoulder and then into a post in the ditch.

  • Virginia: Vehicle Crashes into Hanover Fire Engine on I-95

    State Police are investigating after a vehicle struck a Hanover Fire engine at a traffic accident on I-95 Tuesday morning. The accident happened in the northbound lane of I-95 near mile marker 96.4, south of Kings Dominion Boulevard. The fire engine was responding to an accident and was parked to block the crews at the scene.

  • Colorado Officer Struck by Stolen Minivan in Dramatic High-Speed Chase

    A Colorado state trooper is seriously injured after trying to stop a man accused of stealing an SUV with a 4-year-old boy inside. Authorities said the unidentified trooper was undergoing surgery Wednesday after being struck by 29-year-old Ryan Stone while putting down stop sticks in a failed effort to stop him. Illinois State Police say a 2008 GMC Denali SUV hit a attachment on the back of an IDOT truck that was stopped in the left lane. Police say the IDOT truck was using its lights and arrow signal to direct traffic away from crews repairing potholes.

  • Illinois Highway Workers Injured

    A two vehicle crash involving an Illinois Department of Transportation truck sent two people to local hospitals for treatment on Tuesday. It happened around 1:30 p.m. on Interstate 57 at mile post 66. The IDOT truck was assisting with traffic control for a lane patching operation to repair potholes left from recent winter snow removal. The truck was stationary in the left lane with the truck's lights and arrow board activated.
