  • Texas: Firefighter Struck by Vehicle Outside Station

    An SUV struck a San Antonio firefighter this morning as he helped a fire truck back into a North Side fire station. Marc Eric Hitchcock, 32, was guiding the vehicle into a stall at Fire Station 6 at 503 W. Russell Place about 8 a.m. when he was hit, officials said.

  • Maryland: Howard County Police Officer Injured in Roadside Crash

    A Howard County police officer was injured while conducting a traffic stop on the side of Interstate 70 in Marriottsville late Monday night when an oncoming vehicle crashed into his stopped patrol vehicle, according to Howard County Police.

  • Texas: Officer Hit by Drunken Driver in 2003 Dies

    Officer Mario Valdez, who had returned to the force after being critically injured when a drunken driver slammed into him as he directed traffic in 2003, died Thursday night at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. He was 41 and a 16-year veteran who worked patrol on the East Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
