  • Connecticut: Drunk Woman Nearly Ran Over Officer

    A woman was arrested after police say she nearly ran over a police officer with an SUV Saturday and was discovered to have a blood alcohol content level of .305. The incident happened just before 11 Saturday, near the intersection of Cross and Vine streets.

  • New York Firefighter Hit by Truck on Northway Still Recovering

    A local firefighter is still recovering at Albany Medical Center after an accident on a Northway ramp last week. Allen Ayotte, 66, was assisting with the accident scene, providing for scene safety through necessary traffic control, when he was accidently struck by the tow truck he was directing.   • Ohio: Deputy Released from Hospital After I-275 Crash

    Deputy Tom Lange was stopped along the side of the interstate, warning drivers of a disabled van on the side of the road ahead. The driver of a tanker truck, Michael Brunner, tried to change lanes to avoid Lange's cruiser, but instead jackknifed and hit the cruiser.   • Texas: Police Officers, Firefighter Hurt In Overnight Accident

    An early morning encounter with two people suspected of being intoxicated leads to two officers and a firefighter being injured.

  • New York City Cop Struck by Runaway Driver in Queens

    A police officer was struck and injured in Queens early this morning by a runaway driver, according to cops. Cops say the officer was struck by a white Pontiac with New Jersey license plates at the corner of Springfield and 115th Streets. The officer reportedly stopped the vehicle for unknown reasons, and the driver then hit the cop while fleeing the scene, police said.

Officer Heather Munsterman is an eight-year veteran on the police force. Now she's confined to a wheel chair and at home, mainly in a hospital bed.
