    A NYS Trooper was struck by a vehicle Monday morning on the 190 in Niagara Falls. Eric Smith of Lewiston lost control of his vehicle from the snow and ice. He left the roadway driving through the center line before going airborne. Smith struck a NYS Police Tahoe with a trooper inside the vehicle at the time. The trooper was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

  • Minnesota Trooper Hit by Drunk Driver at 494/35W Tells Story

    A Minnesota State Patrol trooper hit by a suspected drunk driver Saturday night is telling his story of survival. Trooper Allen Thill was one of five emergency responders at the scene of a rollover crash at interstate 494 and 35W. Troopers even closed the ramp to keep the situation as safe as possible, but their precautions were still not enough to stop a drunk driver.     A city of Hudson firefighter was injured Monday evening in what officials described as a hit and run accident. The 35-year-old firefighter was struck at the intersection of Seventh Street and State Street by an unidentified vehicle while running towards the Central Station firehouse at Seventh Street around 7:15 p.m.
