  • Tree Strikes Washington Trooper Car

    A tree hit a State Patrol trooper’s car Monday on state Route 101, but no injuries were reported. The tree fell at a mud slide near mile post 30 in Pacific County. The patrol car was first hit by the tree then struck by another vehicle. The trooper was already outside the patrol car checking another downed tree when the second tree hit the vehicle.

  • Two Georgia Firefighters Struck

    Two Peach County firefighters were struck and injured by a pickup truck Monday evening while working the scene of an earlier accident on Ga. 96 just west of Interstate 75 and Housers Mill Road.Drivers in both accidents were charged with prescription drug-based DUI offenses.

  • Texas Officer Pinned by Gate Nearly Hit by Responding Squad Car

    The officer was reaching through a gate for a control box when the gate opened and crushed her arm. She called for backup. When a second squad car arrived, the driver accidentally overcorrected. "The first unit responding to back her up had an issue, jumped the curb and struck the gate," said Lt. J.A. Welborn with the Houston Police Department.
