A police officer who was struck by a car on the Gold Coast has been released from hospital. The 47-year-old sergeant was attempting to stop a car at Labrador around 2am on Saturday, when it allegedly drove at him, police say.

California Police Officer Hit By Alleged Shoplifter
Party Town employee Jennifer Bekker saw the whole thing through her window at work. "The policeman was yelling at the man in the car, saying don't move. The guy threw the car in reverse, backed up. The police officer ran at the car, broke the window with his gun and fell on the ground, rolled a few feet and the guy took off."

Idaho DOT Employee Struck at Accident Scene
On Saturday, February 26, 2011, at approximately 8:56 a.m., Idaho State Police Trooper B. Barnes was assisting at motorist involved in a non-reportable crash on the shoulder of the northbound lane of Interstate 15, at milepost 67 in Pocatello, Idaho. Idaho Transportation Department Supervisor Claylon Perkins, 55, of Pocatello, ID, stopped to assist Trooper Barnes with traffic control. Perkins had exited his 2009 GMC Sierra pickup when KC Petrillose-Parrish, 44, of Pocatello, ID, lost control of her 2004 Dodge Durango. Petrillose-Parrish was driving too fast for the icy road conditions. Petrillose-Parrish's vehicle struck Perkins' vehicle, causing the GMC Sierra pickup to strike Perkins. Perkins and Petrillos-Parrish were transported by ground ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
