Driver of Pickup That Struck Massachusetts Officer to be Cited
The driver of a pickup truck that struck a Peabody police sergeant working a detail on Route 1 Monday morning will be cited at a later date. Sgt. Eric Zawacki suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken by ambulance to Massachusetts General Hospital. He is expected to survive, according to State Police.

Idaho Firefighter Accidentally Struck by Deputy's Cruiser
Jefferson County Sheriff's office said a volunteer firefighter was accidently hit by a police car during an early morning fire call in Roberts Tuesday. Benjamin Charles Poston, 61, of Roberts, was first on the scene in his own personal vehicle, the sheriff's office said. Poston was trying to flag down the deputy when he was struck by the car

A Carter County Sheriffs Deputy was injured in the line of duty when he was hit by a car. Carter County Sheriff Ken Grace said deputy Shannon Davis was run over outside an Ardmore night club early Sunday morning.

Delaware Police Officer Injured in Crash on US 13
A New Castle County police officer suffered minor injuries this morning when her patrol car was struck from behind on U.S. 13 near New Castle. The accident happened about 4 a.m. in the northbound lanes at the intersection of East Oak Drive in the Midvale area. Heavy fog was in the area at the time.

Massachusetts Police Officer Struck and Seriously Injured
A Peabody police officer was seriously injured after being hit by a car this morning while working a detail on Route 1 in Peabody, authorities said. The officer was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after being hit by a vehicle at 234 Newbury St. (Route 1), near the Northeast Nursery.

A 26-year-old woman who allegedly dragged and twice struck a Philadelphia police officer in a hit-and-run during a Center City traffic stop late Friday has been apprehended in South Jersey.
