It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday evening on Interstate 94 near 42nd Avenue in north Minneapolis. “A driver of a van plowed into the back end of his squad car pushing him into the car he had pulled over,” said Capt. Matt Langer, of the State Patrol.

For the first 90 days since the Emergency Zone Law went into effect on January 1, 2011, the main focus for the Washington State Patrol was to educate motorists about the new law.
