  • California Police Still Seeking Van Driver Who Rammed Motorcycle Officer

    While an extensive manhunt using several dog teams, two helicopters, an airplane and about 40 officers failed to locate a man suspected of ramming a stolen van into a motorcycle officer Monday morning, police said the intended victim looked like he was going to be OK after surgery on a broken leg.

  • Man Accused in Georgia Officer Hit and Run Arrested Again

    Arrest papers say the car was driven by Brandon Sims of Woodstock and Jones was a front seat passenger. The officer says Sims handed him his license, insurance and weapons permits. According to arrest reports, when the officer asked if there were any weapons in the car, Sims said yes, and the officer proceeded to remove a Beretta from the glove box and a 38 caliber Cobra from the center console. Arrest papers say both guns were loaded and the Cobra had a bullet in its chamber.

  • New Hampshire Police Officer Struck While Directing Traffic During Power Outage

    A Rochester police officer went to the hospital for a minor hand injury after he was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic at the intersection of Route 11 and Little Falls Bridge Road Monday morning.

  • New Mexico Officer Hit by Car

    A vehicle struck a Ruidoso police officer Saturday at about 9:29 a.m. Officer Dave Gallegos was directing traffic at the intersection of Mechem Drive and Terrace Drive when he was struck. Police were diverting traffic from Mechem Drive for the annual AspenFest Parade at the time.

  • Suspect in Hit-and-Run Death of Greenfield, Indiana Police Officer Turns Herself In

    Police arrested an Indianapolis woman Monday in the hit-and-run death of a Greenfield police officer. Sue Anne Vanderbeck, 61, turned herself in Monday afternoon to the Henry County Sheriff’s Department, said Maj. Derek Towle of the Greenfield Police Department.

  • Tractor-Trailer Hits Stamford, Connecticut Fire Engine on I-95

    A Stamford Fire & Rescue Department engine was seriously damaged Monday morning when it was hit from behind at high speed by a tractor-trailer as firefighters were extinguishing a vehicle fire near exit 8 southbound on Interstate 95, Fire Chief Robert McGrath said.

    A Los Angeles man died Sunday when the car he was driving rear-ended a parked Los Angeles County fire engine on the 105 Freeway in Lynwood, according to the California Highway Patrol. Delaron Hines’ 2011 Toyota plowed into the back of a fire engine that had stopped in the third eastbound lane to help douse a vehicle fire.

    The man hit by a race car Friday night is recovering in the hospital Saturday and is expected to make a full recovery. This happened at the Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Illinois around 9:10 Friday night, October 1.
