(SC)(08-09-2022) Paramedic struck and killed when car drives through crash scene

FLORENCE, S.C. — A paramedic and motorcyclist in South Carolina were killed Tuesday night when a car drove through a crash scene, according to the Florence County Emergency Medical Services.

This happened just before 9 p.m. on Pamplico Highway in Florence.

Florence County Emergency Medical Services, law enforcement officers, and firefighters were managing the scene of a crash.

Officials said while the paramedics were actively caring for a victim involved in the collision, a vehicle that was not involved in the initial crash drove through the crash scene and struck at least four people, including one of the paramedics and two law enforcement officers.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken identified the paramedic as Sara Kinsy Weaver, 32, of Florence. He identified the motorcyclist as Cedric Antonio Gregg, 37. of Florence.

In addition to the dead, a Florence police officer suffered a broken leg and a South Carolina Highway Patrol trooper suffered a head injury when a car went through a crash scene
