A tow truck driver died after being struck by a suspected DUI driver on Interstate 5 in Sacramento on Saturday night, March 27th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officials said that the 40-year-old tow truck driver out of Sacramento was responding to a call about a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder of northbound I-5 at Seamas Avenue.

Larry Godbold, 46, was driving a Town and Country minivan on northbound I-5 in the No. 4 lane when officials say he struck the tow truck and the driver.

The tow truck driver was thrown into the northbound lanes of I-5 after the crash and was later pronounced dead by the Sacramento Fire Department. The tow operator has not yet been identified.
