New York Drivers Must Move Over: Law in Honor of Deputy Killed in Line of Duty
Drivers should prepare to pull over into the other lane when they see a police car stopped on the side of the road. Starting January 1st, drivers must move over and slow down. It's part of a new law passed in memory of two officers who died in the line of duty, including Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputy Glenn Searles.

New North Carolina Move Over Law
A new law protecting electric utility workers goes into effect Wednesday. The "move over" law says drivers have to move into the farthest lane, or slow down, when passing a public service vehicle that's flashing a warning signal.
