Vermont State Police Sgt. Brian Turner said the idea for a recent directed patrol came to him as his cruiser shook while writing traffic tickets. He said the shaking was caused by other vehicles passing close by as they went along their way.

LeClaire, Illinois Police Incident Spotlights Move Over Law
A car loses control on I-80 and slams into a squad car. LeClaire Police were stopping to check on two people walking on the road when a car in the far left lane lost control and crashed into the officer's car. The officer had minor injuries, the car will need serious repairs, and the driver did get a ticket. Police say this is another reminder of how dangerous it is to be anywhere on the highway. They say if the traveling car hadn't moved over, the accident could've been much worse.
