  Last month, firefighters and emergency medical services personnel from Marshall and Waterloo, along with emergency responders from throughout southern Wisconsin, paid their respects to Endeavor-Moundville firefighter Larry Millard, who died on Dec. 1, 2015 while assisting at a traffic accident.

• Washington State Patrol Move Over emphasis

  Between 2007 and 2014, 212 Washington State Patrol (WSP) vehicles were struck while conducting traffic stops or providing motorist assistance. Three troopers and multiple citizens have been injured in collisions over the last seven years, as a result of vehicles either striking the trooper or a parked emergency vehicle.

• Virginia: At least five people killed in Virginia traffic crashes over the holiday weekend

  Five fatal crashes over the Christmas holiday weekend resulted in the deaths of one pedestrian, one moped operator and three drivers on Virginia’s highways. The deaths occurred in Bedford and Surry counties, and the cities of Hampton, Newport News and Richmond. Alcohol was a factor in at least two of the five fatal crashes. As of Dec. 28, 2015, preliminary reports indicate 732 individuals have died in traffic crashes statewide; compared to 694 same date in 2014.
