Massachusetts: Police Enforce Move Over Law
Mass State Police was out in full force this week enforcing the state's Move Over law.
Police say they stopped 82 commercial vehicles, issued 103 citations and summonsed four drivers for operating on suspended licenses on Thursday.
The Move Over law, which took effect in 2009, requires drivers passing a stationary emergency or maintenance vehicle with flashing lights to move over to the next lane if it is safe to do so. If the driver is unable to move over, they must slow down in the lane.
Not abiding by the Move Over law can result in a fine of up to $100.
