Massachusetts State Police Increase Highway Patrols

In the last six weeks, seven state troopers have been struck and injured by motor vehicle accidents. Colonel Marian McGovern said, "What I want people to understand is they're not accidents. These are crashes. These are people who are traveling off the roadway into a breakdown lane and striking a marked cruiser." Colonel McGovern said speeding, distracted driving and drunk driving are putting her troopers and the public at risk.
