GROUP SEEKS TO RAISE AWARENESS FOR ELDERLY DRIVERS
More and more elderly drivers are taking to the streets and highways in your town. One group in the east is trying to help them with the rules of the road. Safe Communities and Pitt Partners for Health sponsored one event. The AARP requires this eight-hour class. Instructors emphasized the importance of laws like the move over law. They also talked about what prescription medicines can do to elderly drivers, when they get behind the wheel.
"Well I think you can always learn, all of your life. You don't need to stop learning because you finished high school, college or work. You can still learn and there were many interesting things brought out,” said Virginia Mixon.
More than a dozen drivers came out to the program.
