TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION WORKERS HIT BY MOTORISTS, MESSED UP

More than 100 TDOT workers have died in Tennessee in the last 50 years.

Hundreds more are injured every year. TDOT says the majority of the incidents are caused by motorists who are not paying attention to driving.

There have been 107 TDOT workers killed on the job since 1949. There were 330 TDOT workers injured in 2005 alone. That’s almost one every single day, and motorists are getting hurt and dying too. On July 11, 1995, a semi truck smashed into 2 TDOT workers on I-65. One worker said, “We were working on the barrier wall. He was coming up the left lane at 70mph.
