FLORIDA POLICE PUSH MOVE OVER ENFORCEMENT
Police in Port Orange will be the latest police force to hit the streets with emphasis on enforcing the state's Move Over Act. They'll be starting their push Friday November 23. Several police units in Central Florida have conducted crackdowns in the past. The state's Move Over Law requires motorists to move over and slow down when approaching an emergency vehicle from behind. On a multi-lane highway, drivers are required to slow down and leave one lane clear between themselves and the emergency vehicle. The Port Orange Police will be conducting their special patrols throughout December.
