TENNESSEE ACCIDENT REENFORCES MOVE-OVER LAW

On the Williamson - Maury County line Wednesday, a state trooper's car was hit after a driver violated the state's move-over law. The accident occurred on the Saturn Parkway near the Kedron Road exit. State police said a trooper was sitting in his vehicle after pulling over a tractor trailer for an inspection stop when a BellSouth vehicle drifted over onto the shoulder of the road and hit the trooper's patrol car. Trooper Jeff Reed went to the hospital to be checked out for a shoulder injury. “We want to remind the public of the new Move Over Law. I realize sometimes that’s not possible to do that. If you are being passed at the time, but we would ask you to slow down and proceed with caution through that site where the trooper’s got that vehicle stopped,” Lt. Wayne Sellers, with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, said.

Ironically, there was a "Move Over - Save a Life" sticker in the rear window of the trooper's car, on the same side the truck hit him.
