NEW IDAHO MOVEOVER LAW
Idaho drivers must be more attentive to police who are stopped on the side of the roads. It's part of the new Move Over Law. The law went into effect on July 1, 2006. This new law requires motorists to either move over a lane or at least slow down when approaching a stationary police or emergency services vehicle. The law aims at reducing the number of injuries and fatalities to police officers, paramedics, firefighters, tow truck operators and highway maintenance workers. Drivers who break the law can expect to be given a ticket.
