DELAWARE STIFFENS MOVEOVER LAW PENALTIES
The state recently stiffened penalties for drivers who don't slow down and change lanes when they see flashing lights. But a crackdown by Wilmington police officers shows drivers still aren't following the rules. Officers worked in tandem Wednesday. One officer would pull over a driver for speeding or not wearing a seat belt. Then another officer would catch drivers speeding past. Some drivers said they weren't aware of the Move Over Law. So here it is: If an emergency vehicle, tow truck or D.O.T. vehicle is pulled over on the side of the road, drivers are required to slow and down and change lanes if possible.
