MOVE OVER LAWS - ENVIRONMENTAL SCAN(NOVEMBER 2005)
Move over laws generally require that motorists approaching stopped emergency vehicles displaying activated emergency lighting must either move over to another lane or, if that's not possible, than to slow down and/or to prepare to come to a full stop. Every few months we scan the internet to find the latest articles, stories, and references to move over laws - in some articles or reports we see indications that the move over laws appear to be successfully protecting emergency responders, other articles provide basic driver education about move over laws, and other articles reflect drivers' experiences with, and confusion about, move over laws. Below you will find links to many of these sites, along with a brief summary of the site that we have prepared. Let us know of any move over articles you may come across by writing us at [email protected].
