Officials in the city of Orange say a police officer's condition is improving after he was critically injured by a suspected drunken driver while responding to a call. The Orange Police Department said Sunday that the officer, who suffered major trauma to his legs and pelvis, is stable in intensive care.

A Houghton County Road Commission worker was struck by a vehicle while working on a broken down snowplow that was parked on the side of the road in Chassell Township Saturday morning.
