New York City Cop Struck by Runaway Driver in Queens
A police officer was struck and injured in Queens early this morning by a runaway driver, according to cops. Cops say the officer was struck by a white Pontiac with New Jersey license plates at the corner of Springfield and 115th Streets. The officer reportedly stopped the vehicle for unknown reasons, and the driver then hit the cop while fleeing the scene, police said.

South Carolina: Injured Beaufort Police Officer Recovering in Charleston Hospital
The Beaufort police officer struck by a vehicle on Boundary Street last week underwent surgery Thursday to repair some of his injuries. First Sgt. Chris Cushman, 45, had the operation at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Doctors repaired his injured leg and placed a pin in his arm, his wife, Charlotte, said.
