  • Ohio: Hit-and-Run Hospitalizes Tow Truck Driver on I-75

    A tow truck driver and his truck were hit on I-75 while trying to help a driver stranded on the side of the road in LaSalle Township. Steven Johnson of Star Towing was seriously injured and sent to St. Vincent Hospital on Saturday.   • Pennsylvania: Car, Reading Fire Truck on Call Crash in Snowy Intersection

    The wintry weather led to dozens of accidents around the region Friday morning. One of the crashes involved a car and a fire truck responding to a call in Reading. The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at North 10th and Robeson streets. The intersection was snow-covered at the time.

  • Texas: Officer Struck by Vehicle, Lubbock Police Arrest Two People After Chase

    Lubbock police arrested two people, one accused of striking an officer with a vehicle before fleeing on foot and another of kicking in apartment doors to escape.

  • Maine State Trooper Injured in Portland Accident

    Trooper Jessica Shorey has been treated and released from Maine Medical Center for neck and back pain. She was seated in her cruiser when it was struck by another car which lost control on the slippery road.

  • New Mexico: Man Shot by Officer is Charged

    A Hamburg man faces felony charges in northern New Mexico where he was shot by a police officer following a pursuit on Interstate 25. Police say the shooting occurred when the van then struck an officer's vehicle as he walked toward the van.

  • New York: Cop Hit by Car as Snow Leads to Accidents on Area Highways

    A Westchester County police officer was struck by a car late Friday morning while responding to an accident on the Bronx River Parkway, one of many reported on the region’s roadways in the wake of a snowfall.

  • Ohio: Trooper on the Mend After Being Hit by Car

    A state trooper who has worked for the Columbiana Police Department is home from the hospital after being struck by a car last week. Sgt. Michael Wilson of the Canfield post said trooper Brian Cowles returned home on Monday after having surgery on his right leg.

  • Florida: Ambulance Struck While Responding to Pedestrian Accident

    In Miami a second ambulance had to be called out after an ambulance was struck by a truck while responding to two pedestrians who were hit by a vehicle.

  • Texas: Deputy Struck During Drunk Driving Initiative

    A drunken driver reportedly totaled a constable deputy’s car. Last week, deputies were able to make the area safer with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office “Impaired Driver Initiative,” which ran from Dec. 28 to New Years Day. The initiative resulted in 16 DWI arrests one of which resulted in one assault on an officer three evading arrest and one felony evading and one resisting arrest. During the initiative, one constable deputy was struck by an impaired driver, the third in less than a month. On Dec. 2, two suspected drunken drivers were accused of crashing into two Precinct 4 Constable Patrol units within minutes of each other, at the same location

  • Utah: Trooper Nearly Hit by Veering Semi-Truck

    Dash cam video of a secondary collision, taken by trooper approaching original accident. If you watch the video (that was shown on network news this morning) you'll note it says the semi driver didn't realize traffic was slowing in front of him as he was focused on the trooper's emergency lights.
