    Virginia State Police said a trooper was struck from behind Monday evening while assisting a safety patrol unit with a disabled vehicle. The incident happened at 6:18 p.m. on Interstate 264 near Mt. Trashmore.

  • Texas: Denton County Deputy Hit by Truck While Directing Traffic

    A Denton County deputy was in stable condition after being run over in the town of Krum Saturday evening. Investigators said the deputy was directing traffic when she was hit by a truck just before 6 p.m.

  • Texas: Highland Park Officer Hurt by Fleeing Suspect

    A suspect fleeing from a disturbance at a restaurant in Highland Park Village backed into an SUV and injured a police officer on January 19, 2014.

  • Canada: Police Officer Struck by ATV

    The RNC is looking for the men responsible for striking an officer with an ATV. The RNC says an officer attempted to stop a pair of ATVs that were driving dangerously in the area of Birchy Nap Hill Road in Torbay Wednesday afternoon. The ATVs refused to stop for police.

  • Florida: St. Petersburg Motorcyle Patrol Officer Hit by Bus, Injured

    A St. Petersburg police motorcycle patrol officer and a bus passenger were injured in a crash Saturday morning in St. Pete Beach, police said. Officer Michael Weiskopf was assisting with traffic control for the St. Pete Beach Classic 10K race at 7 a.m. when he was struck by a slow-moving Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority bus, police said.   • Florida: Tampa Police Officer Struck by Fleeing Car, Suspect Shot

    A Tampa police officer was injured after he was struck by a suspect's vehicle during a traffic stop. The incident happened in the area of Hillsborough Avenue and 30th Street. Investigators say a second officer opened fire on the car after it struck Captain Steve Hartnett and tried fleeing the scene.

  • New York: Vehicle Hits Fire Truck on Thruway

    The Fultonville Volunteer Fire Department encountered more than it expected when it responded Wednesday to an emergency on the Thruway. At about 6:30 a.m. the volunteer crew was tending to a vehicle that slid off the roadway due to icy conditions. Chief Tom Crosier said the crew was getting ready to leave the scene when a box truck struck a guardrail, tipped onto its side and slid into the department's fire truck, which was parked on the side of the Thruway.

  • Virginia: Four People Hit by Vehicle While Trying to Help Pedestrian

    Chesapeake Police say four people were taken to the hospital after they were hit by a vehicle while trying to help another pedestrian who was also in an accident.
