  • Canada: 1 Man Dead as Road Crew Workers Struck by Car in Alliston

    Two workers on a road crew in Alliston were sent to hospital — where one man later died — after they were struck by a vehicle while painting lines early Friday. The OPP says a man and woman were painting lines on Victoria Street just before 3 a.m. when they were struck by a pickup truck. Police say the man — a volunteer firefighter — was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. He later died in hospital. The woman was treated at a local hospital and is listed in serious but stable condition.

  • Alabama: Officer Still recovering from Struck-By Injuries

    A Birmingham officer is continuing on his personal road to recovery after being hit while working a wreck on the interstate. Officer Brandon Smith was hit on I-20/59 by a man who police have charged with driving drunk. It happened the same night Officer Keary Hollis was shot and killed just a short distance away.

  • Coliorado: Denver Police Officer Patrolling Construction Zone Hit by Suspected Drunk Driver

    A Denver Police officer was hit by a suspected drunk driver early Friday morning in a construction zone near Denver International Airport. The officer was patrolling the construction zone, in an unmarked vehicle, when she was rear-ended, police said.

  • New Jersey Officer Struck Dring Traffic Stop

    A southern New Jersey police officer remains hospitalized in stable condition after he was struck by an SUV during a traffic stop. Authorities say Monroe Township Patrolman Anthony Vezza was standing near a car he had pulled over Saturday night when an SUV struck his police cruiser and then him.   • Pennsylvania: Fire Police Officer Struck by Vehicle

    A fire police officer was struck by a vehicle while detouring traffic from a crash in Manchester Township Sunday morning, according to West Manchester Township Police.

  • Texas: Firefighter Struck Crossing Road

    A Caldwell volunteer firefighter is recovering in a Bryan hospital after being hit by an 18-wheeler Monday evening. Burleson County authorities say the firefighter was responding to a structure fire on Highway 36 around 6:00 p.m.. The firefighter was crossing the road to get to a fire truck when he was hit by a slow moving 18-wheeler. The firefighter was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.

  • West Virginia: Trooper Struck in Hit and Run on I-77

  • Virginia: Deputy Sheriff Injured in Struck-By Incident on I-85

    A Dinwiddie sheriff's deputy was injured Saturday while making a traffic stop on Interstate 85. The sheriff's department said the deputy, who was not named, suffered injuries when the man he had pulled over for a traffic violation Saturday around 6:15 p.m. ran over the deputy's foot as he drove off after receiving his traffic summons.

  • Maryland: Crash Snarls Traffic on Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel Bridge

    Traffic was brought to a standstill on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and two people — including a Maryland Transportation Authority police officer — were flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center following a two-vehicle crash on Kent Island on Wednesday.
