    State Police say a North Sutton man was arrested on multiple charges after he failed to stop his pickup truck for an officer outside New Hampshire Motor Speedway, struck another State Police officer multiple times, crashed into two more vehicles, and tried to escape on foot, leaving two passengers injured in his vehicle.   • Wisconsin: Sheriff's Deputy Struck by Alleged Drunk Driver

    A Milwaukee County Sheriff Deputy was taken to the hospital early Saturday morning after being hit by a suspected drunk driver. The deputy was responding to a a crash involving a suspected drunk driver around 5:00 a.m. near I-94 and Highway 100 when another suspected drunk driver hit the squad at a high rate of speed.   • Florida: Accused Shoplifter Who Hit Apopka Cop with Car Denied Bond

    An alleged shoplifter with 39 prior arrests, struck an Apopka police officer when fleeing from the officer in a Marshall store parking lot.

  • New Jersey: Driver, 80, Charged with Hitting Officer

    An 80-year-old driver was charged with hitting a township police officer with his car on Monday while he was directing traffic on Route 35, authorities said. Roland Eckstein, of Middletown, tried to pass vehicles in the shoulder of the road at around 11:10 a.m. when he struck Patrolman Thomas Hughes at the intersection of Route 35 and Pine Street, Lt. Stephen Dollinger said in a release. Hughes was taken to Riverview Hospital in Red Bank where he was treated for a hand injury, he said.   • California: Police Officer Hit by Taxi in Pacific Beach

    A San Diego police officer was taken to the hospital with a leg injury after he was struck by a taxi cab in Pacific Beach on Saturday morning. Police say the officer was riding a bicycle near Thomas Avenue and Mission Boulevard when he was hit just after 1 a.m. The driver stayed on scene for the investigation.

  • South Carolina:North Myrtle Beach Officer Struck by Car

    An early morning Saturday wreck sent one North Myrtle Beach police officer to the hospital for a knee injury. The wreck occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. 17 and Main Street, according to Pat Dowling, spokesman for the city of North Myrtle Beach. Officers David Reist and Bobby Hall were working a minor wreck at that location when a female motorist crashed her car into one of the police units, causing the police unit to strike another car, and pushing that car into Hall, Dowling said.

  • Pennsylvania: State Trooper Narrowly Avoids Being Run Over by Theft Suspect's Vehicle

    State police say a trooper narrowly avoided being run over by a theft suspect during a pursuit in Trappe Borough, Montgomery County. It happened Friday in the 500 block of West Main Street after state police responded to a property theft. Police said their investigation led them to 21-year-old Geoffrey Gaines, who ignored commands from police to surrender and jumped into his vehicle.

  • Alabama: Roadside Assistance Vehicle Struck

    Two vehicles were parked in the median, one was disabled and the other was a roadside assistance vehicle, Coker said. A vehicle that was headed northbound hit the two vehicles that were parked in the median.

  • Maryland Officer Struck by Alleged Drunk Driver

    A Montgomery County police officer who was struck by a vehicle while directing traffic has been released from the hospital. Police say the officer was directing traffic around a collision on the outer loop of Interstate 495 between Connecticut Avenue and Georgia Avenue around 4 p.m Tuesday when the driver of a Hyundai veered into a lane closed to vehicles and struck the officer.
